Behnam Ibrahizadeh is on his 16th day of hunger strike

HRANA News Agency – Behnam Ibrahimzadeh, labor activist, who has recently been transferred from Evin to Rajaei Shahr prison, is on his 16th days of hunger strike.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Behnam Ibrahimzadeh who was transferred from ward 209 of Evin prison to Rajaei Shahr prison on August 12 is on hunger strike since 16 days ago.

He is currently being kept in dangerous criminals’ ward and has asked for medical treatment for his physical and health issues and to be sent back to Evin prison.

An informed source told HRANA’s reporter, “three days ago Behnam was transferred to ward number two, which is known with the name of Dar-Al-Quran, but because he refuse to break his hunger strike, he was sent back to ward number 1 with the order of Mardani, the prison chief”.

Behnam Ibrahimzadeh, labor activist, has been sentenced by revolutionary court to five years in prison, on charge of collusion. He is serving his 4th year of imprisonment.

He was arrested by security forces on June 12, 2010, and first was sentenced to 20 years in prison by revolutionary court, but it was reduced to 5 years in court of appeal.
