Majzooban Noor - Hunger Strike Goes on Until Freedom of Dervishes; Jailed Dervishes Mention their Demands on Hunger Strike

Nine of jailed rights activists of Gonabadi Dervishes in prisons of Evin of Tehran and Nezam in Shiraz, in an open statement mentioned their goals and objectives of the collective hunger strike.

The vocal and collective hunger strike on September 9, commenced when the officials of the prison intensified extra restrictions on Dervishes again.

Although the first objective of hunger strike was to protest against the aggravated restrictions of the judicial authorities and prison centers on the jailed Dervishes, political prisoners and also prisoners of conscience, the Dervishes in a new statement cited that " as long as there is a security attitude and view toward Dervishes, there is no an explicit response from accountable high-ranking officials about the violation of rights of Dervishes over years, and also no end to the enmities of the ignorant in the clothe of religion against the followers of Spirituality and Sufism, we shall continue our hunger strike because this time we have written our testaments and ready to die".

Spiritual Brothers;
We, the imprisoned Dervishes, as a small member of a very old noble Sufism family, our emphasis has always been on promoting peace and friendship, and health of body and soul, and spirit for both us and the society as well. But what from the prison officials and judicial authorities have imposed upon us, is a pile of numerous pressures out of the law on our fellows and brothers.
So far, you have accompanied us to meet the legal demands and curb pressure on the prisoners. You went on hunger strike to demonstrate your solidarity with us, gathered in front of the court and prisons; moreover, emphasized the rights of prisoners be respected and fulfilled, and also did not refrain to communicate and correspond with any respective officials and authorities; however, you were witness with your eyes that none of the perpetrators and the officials has been accountable. Today, we are with you, because what you receive out of jail is much harder than what is imposed upon us; thus, our objective from the hunger strike is not to dispatch us to hospitals, or to be together in the same ward, to return to the ward 350, to remove the obligations of prison uniform, to return the Dervishes from solitary confinement to a general one, to have fair hearing and trail, to enjoy the basic rights considered by law for a prisoner, to be released from prison, but we want any view and attitude on Dervishes community as a security view, to be removed and wiped out. Our demand is to remove any siege and limit from our honorable and distinguished elders and leaders, to remove any news boycott concerning Gonabadi Dervishes, to impede and stop to set fire houses and mosques of Dervishes (Worship-place/Hosseiniyeh), to stop dismissing you from your professions. Our demand is to have a society to bestow soul and life on people, not to capture it in the name of religion, to see a society that the religion clothe does not eradicate the tranquility and peace of its inhabitants, but it should be a harbinger of peace and serenity.

Spiritual Brothers, free men;
We, the imprisoned Dervishes, will continue our hunger strike as long as we see any security attitude and view toward Dervishes, and when there is no explicit accountability from high-ranking officials concerning the violations of rights of Dervishes for years, and also we shall continue to put an end to the animosities of the ignorant toward the spiritual followers of Sufism in the title of religion, because this time we are ready to die and we have written our testaments.
