MANAMA, Sept 13 (KUNA) -- Bahrain's Foreign Ministry Saturday denied a story by the Gulf Daily News newspaper which reported that Foreign Minister Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmad Al-Khalifa welcomed Iran's involvement in an international coalition against ISIL.
Gulf Daily News' report, which was published by local and western news outlets, about Iran's involvement in the international coalition against the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Iraq and Syria "is totally false," the ministry said in a statement, cited by the official BNA news agency.
The newspaper said Sheikh Khaled said Iran was an important country in the region and its participation in Monday's international conference in Paris regarding the fight against ISIL would be beneficial. (end) mge.
