Iran says ready to meet Lebanese army needs

KUNA -- Iranian Defense Minister Hosein Dehqan said Saturday his country was ready to meet needs of the Lebanese army to confronting "terrorist and rejectionist groups.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to provide needs of the Lebanese army to confronting the terrorist and rejectionist groups with the aim of fostering the security of Lebanon," Dehqan said during a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart Sameer Muqbel.

Dehqan said the Lebanese resistance was not restricted on a certain group or sect.
The collaboration between the Lebanese army and the resistance will double Lebanon's capabilities to confronting the Israeli occupation and the terrorist groups, he said.

Muqbel said Lebanon was experiencing special circumstances and the support of Iran was very important.

He said Lebanon and Iran would expand cooperation in all domains including defense.
Supplying the Lebanese army with modern weapons will certainly boost its capabilities to fighting terrorists and rejectionists. (end) mw.bs
