U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham is cranking up political pressure on the White House against striking a nuclear deal with Iran that would allow any enrichment of uranium or keeping of enriched uranium.
Graham said during a press conference in his downtown Greenville office that he'll propose legislation to require the Obama administration to submit any deal to an up-or-down vote by the Congress.
He said the Congress would be able to defund any bad arrangement when Republicans assume control of the Senate in January.
"We must never allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons, period," Graham declared. The deadline for the White House to strike a deal is Nov. 24.
