30 political prisoners on hunger strike at Uremia prison

HRANA News Agency – 30 Kurdish political prisoners of ward number 12 of Uremia prison, refuse to get their food quota, in protest at negligence of their requests.

According to Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 30 Kurdish political prisoners of ward number 12 in central prison of Uremia (Darya prison) refused to get their food quota.

An informed source told HRANA’s reporter, “These prisoners have started hunger strike in protest at being kept together with criminals. Also, they asked for 27 prisoners of this ward who have distributed to other wards being transferred back to political prisoners’ section.”

This source also said, “Prisoners have stated their requests to authorities many times, but every time they faced with negligence and they did not have any other choices except strike”.
