The vital statistics bureau refused to register the name of a baby

HRANA News Agency – A Baluch citizen is facing difficulties for registration of the name and issuance of identity documents for his child, despite founding the confirmation of Iranology Foundation regarding Iranian root of the name.

According to Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), A Baluch citizen, from Koochoo of Telang Ghasr-e-Ghand, faced rejection of authorities for registering the name of his child, when he applied to register the name of Kambar.

The reason of refusal is that this name does not exist in the Iranian Name book; despite the fact that Iranology Foundation of Baluchistan has confirmed that this name is an Iranian name and was a name of Baluch heroes, however this bureau still refuse to register this name.

Need to be mentioned, vital statistic bureau is following a book which has been prepared by government and by the law, names out of this book are unauthorized names. The political and religious orientation that have imposed to this book, has practically excluded some of the citizens from naming their children according to their ethnicity, culturally and religious identity.

Correction

HRANA news agency published a report on November 22 with the title of “insist and success of a Baluch citizen for registering the name for his child”, in which explained the difficulties that a Baluch citizen has bearded for registering a name for his child, and after a legal dispute, he could succeed. After contacting with the family of this child, it appeared that interpretation of HRANA from the received data were not correct, and this family despite having a letter of confirmation from Iranology Foundation regarding the Iranian root of the name Kambar, which is a name of an ancient Baluch hero, is still facing problem and opposition from vital statistic bureau.

Hereby HRANA is correcting its report.
