Gholam Hossein Kalbi in Critical Condition in Karoon Prison

HRANA News Agency – Gholam Hossein Kalbi, political prisoner of Karoon prison in Ahvaz, is held in prison since 14 years ago without leave and is suffering from dental problems and knee discomfort.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Gholam Hossein Kalbi, political prisoner of Karoon prison in Ahvaz, is held in prison since 14 years ago without leave.

He is suffering from dental problems and knee discomfort and is deprived of appropriate treatment in prison and prison’s medics had asked authorities to agree with his medical leave but they have rejected.

Kalbi was arrested along with Saeed Masoori in January 2001, on charge of connection with People’s Mojahedin Organisation, in Dezfoul city and in 2003, by the Revolutionary Court in Tehran he was sentenced to death but eventually his sentence was reduced to lifetime imprisonment.

Kalbi was held in solitary confinement for the first 14 months in Intelligence office of Ahvaz and then he was transferred to ward 209 of Evin prison, in Tehran.
