Ebrahim Firoozi still Imprisoned although his Sentence is Finished

HRANA News Agency – Ebrahim Firoozi, Christian convert, who has been imprisoned since 17 months ago, is still waiting for the judge Moghiseh’s decision, although his sentence ended on 13th January.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ebrahim Firoozi, Christian convert, who was arrested last time on 25th August 2013, formerly was sentenced by the Revolutionary Court in Robatkarim to 1 year imprisonment and 2 years exile to Sarbaz Town.

This court verdict was issued based on his previous arrests and by considering detention days and prison condition and has been finished on 13th January.

This is while, in branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court, presided by Judge Moghiseh, a new case has been opened with charge of acting against the national security and propaganda against the regime.

One of the close relatives of Ebrahim Firoozi told HRANA’s reporter, “Judge Moghiseh has issued 200 million Tomans bail for this case, but, when the family of Ebrahim Firoozi wanted to pay that, they did not accept it.” The source also added: “Ebrahim Firoozi had a trial in January last year [2014], and he did not accept the charges. Judge Moghiseh told him; “as you deny the charges, you have to wait until your interrogator is present in your trial at the court.” A year has passed since that time but still he has not has a trial.”

Ebrahim Firoozi is now held in the ward 10 of Rajai Shahr Prison along with other Christian convert, Pastor Farshid Fathi.
