HRANA News Agency – Aliasghar Mahmoodian, political prisoner of Semnan prison, is facing officials’ ignorance towards his medical treatment. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Aliasghar Mahmoodian, 63, political prisoner in Central Prison of Semnan, who is suffering from several medical problems, is facing with officials’ inattention regarding his medical treatment’s process. An informed source regarding his medical status told HRANA’s reporter, “His medical problems are worsening in the prison and the officials have refused his family’s last request for his medical leave. Although, Mr. Mahmoodian with other political prisoners has been transferred, recently, to a better place, but again this is not a convenient condition for a 63-year-old and ill person.” It needs to be mentioned, Aliasghar Mahmoodian suffers from prostate disease, arteriosclerosis, hemorrhoids, lumbar disc and respiratory diseases. Aliasghar Mahmoodian was arrested in the fall of 2009 and was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment and exile by the branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran on charges of Muharebeh through supporting MEK and so far, he has spent 5/4 years in prison. It is to say, Muharebeh charges is one of the substances of the Penal Code Act 1392 (2013), that was amended and according to the legal principle that is accepted by Iran and International law, his sentence should be changed. |
