HRANA News Agency – Alireza Farshi Yakaneli, one of the admins of the Facebook campaign to get official permission to celebrate the International Day of native language was arrested. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), on 21 February one of the admins of the Facebook campaign to get official permission to celebrate the International Day of native language was arrested be security forces and transferred to Evin Prison. It was about a month ago that a campaign launched to celebrate the International Mother Language Day 21 February and attempted to collect signature to get the official permission from Governor and County office. It is important to say that Alireza Farshi , a dismissed university lecturer of Azad international University of Jolfa was arrested along with several other Azerbaijani activists on the same day last year after security forces raided a the ceremony and was transferred to Evin Prison and finally was released on a 100 million Tomans bail in April 2014. Last week three civil activists in Khoy with names “Amin Hajiloo”, “Eslam Ali Akbarloo” and “Araz Khasseh Nejad” had planned and arrange for a ceremony to appreciate the International Day of native language in Khoy where they arrested by Security forces and after several days of interrogations at the intelligence office of this city transferred to Khoy Prison. 21 February has been named as the International Day of native language by UNESCO and also in the international conference of UNESCO in 1999 in order to help the variety of languages and cultures. |
