Sunday 01 March 201524 cities in Iran, the scene of nationwide teachers’ demonstrations
In Tehran alone, more than 6,000 teachers braved herds of Suppressive State Security Forces, SSF to gather in front of the parliament in solidarity with the nationwide teachers’ demonstration condemning job discrimination, repression and plundering of the country and people’s wealth by the criminal mullahs ruling Iran. Today’s nationwide teachers’ demonstration took part in: Hamedan, Rasht, Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, Mashhad, Abadan, Arak, Shiraz, Zanjan, Yasooj, Kermanshah, Bushehr, Ardebil, Khorram-Abad, Sanandaj, Bandar-Abbas, Boroujerd, Genaveh, Saghez, Paveh, Karaj, Qazvin and Marivan. Some of the 6,000 strong teachers’ demonstration in Tehran were carrying placards reading 'Inflation and high cost of living is destroying Teachers dignity.' The demonstration was surrounded by the SSF and all incoming and outgoing streets to the Parliament were closed off to prevent the demonstration to expand to other parts of the capital. Hundreds also gathered in Isfahan to join the nationwide teachers’ demonstration. In Qazvin, until 11am local time, more than 500 teachers had taken part in the demonstration. CNN iReport |
