HRANA News Agency – Following the recent wave of executions, nine more prisoners, who were charged with drug related cries, were executed by hanging on Sunday at dawn in Ghezel Hesar prison, and the corps were delivered to their families. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), nine more prisoners with charges of drug related crimes were hanged in Ghezel Hesar prison on March 7th. HRANA identified these prisoners as, Mohammad Mahmoodi, Sadegh Mohammad Ahouy, Abdullah Lozoumi, Hossain Rostami, Mohsen Alipoor, Adel Salman Zadeh, Masoud Mohammadi, Asghar Mir Adli and Adel Salmanzadeh. The official authorities did not have publicized any statement or information. According to human rights activist of Iran’s statistics, approximately 60% of executions are not publicized by any official authority. Need to be mentioned, during past days at least 15 prisoners were executed in groups. Mass executions caused many controversies, complaints and protests among families of prisoners and also, riot in prison. Judicial authorities have promised to stop it. Coincide with UN Human Rights Council’s session, for unknown reasons a very concerning wave of executions has begun in prisons of Iran. Considering the face that Ghezel Hesar prison has the highest number of death row prisoners, this issue is more intensive in this prison. The death row prisoners in Ghezel Hesar prison, who are estimated to be hundreds, and their families, have contacted many times with this press and expressed their great concerns about the starts of another wave of group execution in this prison. These citizens requested from all civil society and international organizations to do their best for stopping this trend. |
