16 Prisoners In Urmia Prison Receive Imprisonment Sentences

HRANA News Agency – The court verdicts for 16 civilians, who were arrested in the city of Urmia with political and security charges, were issued.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), in February 2015, branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Urmia issued the court verdict for 15 prisoners who were arrested between June and July 2014.

The names of these people, who have been sentenced to imprisonments between 7 months to 2 years, are as follows:

Faramarz Najafi, Hossein Najafi, Fayegh Najafi, Karim Zamani, Abdullah Badawi, Naser Badawi, Mahmood Jangoo, Abdul Nasser Mohammadpoorr, Molood Hossain, Naji Tmoozadeh, Fereydoon Ebrahami from Urmia and Reza Ayoubi, Ramazan Sabzi, Ali Ahram, Golnaz Ahang Khosh from city of Makoo and Bashir Salehi from Khoy city.

According to HRANA’s informed sources, most of the prisoners accused of acting against national security through contact with PJAK and has been sentenced to imprisonment and are held in political prisoners’ ward, Youth ward and ward 34 in Urmia prison.

The sentences of imprisonment for Golnaz Ahang Khosh, Reza Ayoobi and Ramazan Sabzi have not been notified yet.

It is noteworthy to mention that according to HRANA’s sources, Nasser Badwi, who has been sentenced to seven months, was a graduate student at Sharif University of Technology.
