Saeed Shirzad In the 10th Month of Detention

HRANA News Agency – After ten months of detention, Saeed Shirzad is still imprisoned with no court sentence.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), despite repeated requests, this political prisoner’s solicitor still has not been able to have access to his case bundle, which is against the trial law in Iran.

The civil activist so far twice has refused to attend his trials to protest against this issue but still his solicitor is deprived of having access to his bundle and visiting his client.

In June 2014, Saeed Shirzad was arrested at his place of work at Tabriz refinery and then, first he was taken to Evin prison and later was transferred to Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj.

His first detention was in August 2012, when he had gone to Ahar, in East Azerbaijan, to help the affected people after the earthquake and after 19 days of detention he was released on the bail.

The children’s rights activist, in the field of education for worker and street children, is being held in ward 1 of Rajai Shahr prison, along with non-political prisoners and some dangerous criminals.
