Ibrahim Firoozi on Hunger Strike in Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Ibrahim Firoozi, imprisoned Christian in Rajaei Shahr, have started hunger strike in protest to deliberate violation of separation of prisoners act, since last Saturday.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ibrahim Firoozi who has been kept in ward number 10 of the prison, in a violation of separation of prisoners act, with non-political and even dangerous prisoner, started his hunger strike on Saturday, June 6 and requested to be transferred to ward number 12 which is reserved for political and consciences prisoners.

This prisoner of consciences has been offended by the wardens many times and according to a close source to him, recent pressures made life unbearable for him and he had to start hunger strike to reach his legal rights.

Branch number 28 of the revolutionary court, with chief judge Moghiseh, recently submitted the sentence of five years in prison to the lawyer of Ibrahim Firoozi.

Ibrahim Firoozi was tried last January on charge of acts against the national security by collusion against the regime. He met his lawyer first time in the trial session.

This new converted to Christianity, was arrested on August 25, 2013 and has multiple arrests in his record, and previously was sentenced to one year in prison and two years exile to Sarbaz. Despite serving his sentence, he is kept in prison and has to wait for his new case to be processed.
