At Least 4 Prisoners Hanged In Ghezelhesar Prison In Karaj

HRANA News Agency – At least four prisoners were hanged in Ghezelhesar prison in Karaj.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), these prisoners, all of whom were convicted of drug related charges, were transferred to solitary confinement on Sunday.

“Ali Tafreshi”, “Hossein Rostami”, “Mahmoud Barati” and “Mehdi Rahimi” are the four prisoners who were executed on Monday morning, and a prisoner, with the first name “Zanyar”, who was transferred to the solitary confinement on Sunday, was not executed as his verdict was stopped.

So far, none of the authorities and judicial officials have given any information or clarified regarding their cases.

Ghezelhesar prison in Karaj is one of the largest centers of executions and human rights violations in Iran, where most prisoners are convicted of drug related crimes.
