The World Day Against the Death Penalty

Iranhr.net - On 10 October 2015, the 13th World Day Against the Death Penalty is raising awareness around the application of the death penalty for drug-related offences, to reduce its use. Since 2010, more than 2500 people have been executed in Iran for such offences. United Nations' Office for Drugs and Crimes (UNODC) cooperates with Iran in its fight against drug crimes. We call on the UNODC to condition its cooperation with Iran on a moratorium on the death penalty for drug crimes.
