How will President Trump deal with ISIL, Syria, Iran?

Love him or hate him, Donald Trump is the president-elect of the United States.

The 70-year-old business tycoon won the presidency with at least 290 electoral votes in one of the most toxic and ill-tempered campaigns in history.

Trump's shock win sent the US into a spiral, with thousands taking to the streets to protest as political analysts began predicting the worst.

Ahead of the election, Trump had repeatedly given ambiguous and conflicting statements on foreign policy, particularly when it came to the Middle East.

But with just a few months left until the former reality TV star enters the White House, how does the 45th president of the United States plan to solve the war in Syria?

Does "bombing the hell out of ISIL" mean a more active role for the US military in the region?

And what about the deal he describes as the "worst ever" - does he intend to scrap the Iran nuclear agreement?

Presenter: Martine Dennis

Guests:

J.D. Gordon - National security and foreign policy adviser to Donald Trump.

Samer Shehata - Associate professor of politics and international relations at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies.

Maha Yahya - Director of the Carnegie Middle East Center.
