Saturday 01 January 2011Yazdi Transferred to Intelligence Ministry Safe House
RAHANA: Last Wednesday, his interrogator contacted his wife and told her that she cannot visit her every other Thursday as is the case for other Ward 209 detainees. The interrogator told her wife that he has been transferred to a hospital and will be taken to a safe house in a military zone after that. He had told her to come to the safe house instead of Evin Prison. His wife Souran Talieh had refused to appear at such a place. His interrogator is a person by the name of Mahdavi which has been the interrogator for many Freedom Movement of Iran members. He has been in detention since October 1st. His trial was supposed to be held on December 7th but was postponed since Dr. Yazdi was not present. Concerns have been raised about his health due to his absence. Ward 209 prisoners can visit their families once every 2 weeks. In the recent weeks, many detainees such as Dr. Yazdi have been unable to visit their families due to holidays and air pollution. During the last prison visit, Dr. Yazdi’s psychological condition has been well but his cancer has worsened. Additionally, he is suffering from heart and blood pressure problems. During their last visit, Dr. Yazdi has asked for forgiveness from his wife since his physical condition is deteriorating and he is not receiving medical attention. Since the Revolution, many elderly prisoners such as Kianouri and Amirentezam were transferred to a safe house. |
