Increasing pressure on Baha’is in Sanandaj

The Committee of Human Rights Reporters – since Ordibehesht 12 (May 2nd) a large number of Baha’is in Sanandaj have been summoned to and interrogated by the Intelligence office.

According to the recent reports, the following people were questioned about the process of running the Baha’i community in the city of Sanandaj:

Parvaneh Rahmani, Zabih’u’llah Ra’ufi, Sama Ra’ufi, Fatimah Pirani, Farnaz Yegan, Vahdat Kholusi, Siva Derakhti, Shohreh Ra’ufi, Vahideh Kholusi, Mr and Mrs Nakha’ie, Nader Mavadati and Soudabeh Mavadati.

Zabih’u’llah Ra’ufi had been previously imprisoned for a year because of being a Baha’i. In Mordad 18, 1388 (August 9, 2009) Ministry of Intelligence sent officers to his house. They then, by showing an approved inspection letter, entered his house and confiscated some of his personal possessions such as computer, books and CDs.

He spent his jail period in Sanandaj and Toysarkan.
