A member of the joint Iraqi-Iranian border delineation committee said that the two parties have agreed to reactivate the committee in early September with a view to delineating the border between the two countries and placing border markings by the end of the year.
The committee will also address the issue of joint oil fields. Iraq shares 10 oil fields with Iran, Syria and Kuwait.
[Iraq has often accused Kuwait and Iran of horizontal drilling, which it considers harmful to its economic interests and rights.]
