Strike at Azad Dam in Kurdistan

According to the reports by Coordinating Committee to Help Form Workers Organizations, Jahad Tosse workers, the contractor for Azad Banir Dam went on strike on October 19, demanding back pays. Security, heavy truck and ambulance drivers have been among those taking part in the protests. The workers number 335 at the dam.

After 3 days of work stoppage, the employer promised one month back wages on the condition of workers ending the strike. The workers vowed to continue the protests if the employer promises are not kept.

Azad dam is located near Ngill village on Sanandaj/Marivan road in Iranian Kurdistan.
