TOKYO, May 31 (Reuters) - Japan's crude oil imports fromIran fell 96 percent in April from a year earlier to 36,005kilolitres (7,549 barrels per day), Ministry of Economy, Tradeand Industry (METI) data showed on Friday.The imports last month were down 6.2 percent from March,when Japan imported 1.39 million kilolitres.Japan's Ministry of Finance recently issued customs-cleareddata on April crude imports from Iran.But the oil industry considers METI data as a benchmarkbecause it tracks the actual import status of oil tankers.(Reporting by Risa Maeda; Editing by Shinichi Saoshiro)
