2 political prisoners in critical health condition

HRANA News Agency – Misaq Yazdan Nejad and Ali Salanpour are in critical health condition.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Misaq Yazdan Nejad, imprisoned student at Rajai Shahr Prison, got heart failure and was transferred to the prison clinic on September 19th.

In this regard, an informed source told HRANA’s reporter, “After the cardiac condition, prison infirmary recognized that Misaq should be transferred to a hospital out of prison, but, prison officials prevented.”

Also according to the received reports, another political prisoner, Ali Salanpour is in critical physical condition, due to cervical disc and lack of medical attention.

Regarding Ali Salanpour, an informed source told HRANA’s reporter: “He is suffering from severe pain in the neck, but, officials do not let him have any appropriate remedial action.”

Misaq Yazdan Nejad, born in 1986, is imprisoned at Rajai Shahr prison in exile since September 2009. This political prisoner also had been in solitary confinement in ward 209 of Evin prison for 6 months and twenty days. He is an undergraduate student of English translation and has been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment with accusation of attending memorial ceremony for the prisoners who were executed in 1988, at their grave in Khavaran cemetery and for supporting MEK.

Ali Salanpour was exiled from Evin Prison to Rajai Shahr prison along with six other political prisoners on 1st June this year. The exile of this group was in reaction to the events of 17th April in ward 350 of Evin prison that came to be known as Black Thursday. There is no accurate information about the Ali Salanpour’s charges and convictions and its reason, but one of his relatives told HRANA that he is charged with “Acting against national security through the supporting MEK.”
