This political prisoner also had been in solitary confinement in ward 209 of Evin prison for 6 months and twenty days. He is an undergraduate student of English translation and has been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment with accusation of attending memorial ceremony for the prisoners who were executed in 1988, at their grave in Khavaran cemetery and for supporting MEK. Ali Salanpour was exiled from Evin Prison to Rajai Shahr prison along with six other political prisoners on 1st June this year. The exile of this group was in reaction to the events of 17th April in ward 350 of Evin prison that came to be known as Black Thursday. There is no accurate information about the Ali Salanpour’s charges and convictions and its reason, but one of his relatives told HRANA that he is charged with “Acting against national security through the supporting MEK.” |
