Fire leaves two injured at a refinery in Iran

At least two people were severely injured in a fire occurred in a refinery in Iran’s central city of Arak.

The fire took place in the Residual Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) unit of Shazand refinery last evening, Iran’s Fars news agency reported Nov. 16.

The incident occurred due to oil products’ leakage in discharge point of the refinery’s main tower.

The refinery’s RFCC unit was offline during last 10 days due to technical problems.

During the downtime, the refinery’s Euro 4 gasoline production was decreased by 8-9 million liters per day and almost halved.
