No Information about Ali Moezi in Solitary Confinement

HRANA New Agency – There is no information about the condition of Ali Moezi, who was transferred again to solitary confinement on 3rd January.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Ali Moezi, political prisoner of “Karaj Central Prison”, on 12th of October was transferred to solitary confinement in Evin prison and was kept there until 22nd December.

He was transferred again to solitary confinement on 3rd January and by the time of this report there is no information about his condition.

An informed source in this regard, told HRANA’s reporter, “Ali Moezi was transferred to solitary confinement in ward 8 in Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj, where is known as Revolutionary Guards’ ward, and the reason of this transfer is to open a new case against him to prevent him from being released.”

This source also added, “Ali Moezi suffers from prostates, kidney and bladder failure and he has been prevented from getting medical treatment during his imprisonment.”

Ali Moezi who also was arrested and imprisoned in the 80′s has been arrested in autumn 2008 and sentenced to two years imprisonment and three year suspended imprisonment. After 2 years imprisonment in Rajai Shahr prison, he was released from prison and again, on 12th June 2011, was arrested on charge of participating in Memorial ceremony of Ali Sarami, political prisoner who was executed.

He was then tried, absently, in branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court on charge of supporting MEK and was sentenced to one year in prison, that by taking account the 3 years suspended sentence in the previous case, he should be in prison for 4 years.
